Various Municipalities around the country have credited Government for the establishment for the new Ministry of Water Ways.

The new Ministry will work with various town councils to improve drainage issues around the country.

Lautoka City Council Chief Executive, Jone Nakauvadra, says many towns have been flooded due to drainage problems and now with government allocating funds to municipalities, the issue is expected to be addressed soon.

” The setting up is very timely and everybody is talking about the impact of climate change and every council is facing drainage issues, this is all due to the effect of climate change.”

The government has allocated 1.3 million dollars for the improvement of the drainage systems in all town and cities.
