MSME businesses urged to apply for Excellence awards

Organizer of the Fiji Business Excellence Awards is urging small and grass-root businesses to put in their applications for this year’s awards.

Quality Awards Manager, Bob Mitchell says the awards is a great opportunity for micro small medium enterprises to raise their standards of operations.

Mitchell says once applicants are registered a number of requires need to be met which means the same business standards of an established organization will be being carried out by a market vendor.

“The award is for organizations to actually benchmark against the best practices – when you actually apply for the first level that being the achievement, you have to make certain points to be recognized and once you do in the first level then you move to the next level. There are four levels of recognition and they are commitment, achievement, prize level and of course the best world class best practice for companies which are recognized at an international level.”

Mitchell adds the over seventy business have met the standardised best business practice criteria in the last nineteen years.

Meanwhile, after all the applications are submitted, the evaluators will conduct surveys to identify which companies make the cut following which the FBEA will be held in November.
