Mother on drugs importation remanded

A mother of two, who is charged with unlawful importation of illicit drugs, namely methamphetamine, has been further remanded by the Suva High Court.

Sera Vakula appeared before Judge Salesi Temo this morning.

It is alleged that the accused had been evading police after a parcel containing methamphetamine was addressed to her and was discovered last December.

Judge Temo told the two counsels to file submissions on whether or not the methamphetamine should be tried in the Magistrates Court.

Vakula is remanded until the end of next month.
