The mother of the child who was found by a police officer outside his home has been located.

She is currently being interviewed at the Nasinu Police Station.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the woman came forward after relatives allegedly informed her of the request after seeing the plea on social media.

Police are working closely with the Social Welfare Ministry considering the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The young girl believed to be three-years-old was found wandering alone outside the home of a police officer at Pritam Singh Road in Makoi.
