Mother of 13-year-old who was allegedly kidnapped still shocked

A team of police officers have spoken to a number of people living around the Saweni, Lautoka area where the alleged kidnapping took place.

Investigators will be speaking to the 13-year-old victim and his parents this evening with the hope he may have recalled some other details.

The boy was allegedly abducted by a group of men over the weekend.

The investigation was ordered by the Police Commissioner after claims surfaced on social media alleging possible kidnapping or possible organ trafficking.

Meanwhile, the mother of the 13-year-old boy says the family is still shocked over the incident.

Ana Vatutila claims that her son was approached by two men who had asked for assistance at around 6pm last Saturday.

She also alleges that after her son assisted the two men, he was offered money which he refused to take.

The 35-year-old claims that at this point, his son was given two lollipops and he ate one of it.

According to Vatutila he started to feel dizzy after this.

She alleges a white van had pulled up and three men wearing masks grabbed her son and put him in the van.

However, she told FBC News, that her son managed to escape and claims that he was later found unconscious by the roadside by some students of Ratu Navula College.

Vatutila claims since the incident, it has been difficult for her son to sleep at night.

She says they are doing all they can to ensure their son recovers well.

Meanwhile, Police investigators have recorded the statement of the 13-year-old boy.
