A young girl and her mother are recovering in hospital after being hit by a bus late last night.

Police Director Traffic – SSP Mahesh Mishra says the incident happened at a busy intersection in 9 miles and is still under investigation.

SSP Mishra is advising motorists to be more vigilant on the roads given the heavy traffic during this holiday period.

He adds pedestrians need to be careful on foot crossings and ensure that the road is clear and that it is safe to cross before doing so.

The national road death tolls stands at 61 compared to 49 last year.
