More than half a million dollars collected as FIRC fees

Investment Fiji collected $510,000 as Foreign Investment Registration Certification (FIRC) Fees within the last five months of 2017.

Chief Executive, Godo Mueller-Teut says 204 Registration applications were received from August to December last year.

He adds Wholesale and Retail, Tourism, Manufacturing and Agriculture sectors continued to attract large number of investors in the country with November recording the highest number of Certification.

Throughout 2017, Investment Fiji received a total of 448 Registration Certificate applications, collecting more than $1.1m in fees, a 14 percent increase from 2016.

The organisation has now handed over this sum to the Ministry of Economy.

Permanent Secretary for Economy, Makareta Konrote has applauded Investment Fiji’s effort in attracting the foreign direct investments.
