The Government has surpassed its target of planting a million trees this year.

The 4 Million Trees in 4 Years initiative was launched by President Major General Retired Jioji Konrote and the Forestry Minister Osea Naiqamu earlier this year.

President Konrote while planting a coconut tree at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa, Denarau yesterday says the initiative is dear to the Government.

The President also gave ten Rotuman dwarf coconuts to the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa for planting.
