More than $30m for water sources and treatment plants

More than thirty-three million dollars has been put aside by Water Authority for water sources and water treatment plants.

WAF says this project will improve and upgrade water treatment plants to increase access to clean, safe and reliable water supply throughout the country.

The project is divided into four vital areas including the Water Package treatment plants implementation work, new water system in Vakaderebua, Water treatment plant upgrades and water treatment plants automation.

The government says that WAF has made serious progress in becoming a fully-modernized utility provider due to its continuing investment in human capital.

WAF has a total budget of $349.3million in the 2018/2019 national budget.
