More than $30m allocated for grid extension projects

There are four thousand two hundred and ten areas under the 2018/2019 grid extension projects.

This is part of the rural electrification projects and will costs more than $30 million dollars.

These projects which will be carried out by Energy Fiji Limited and Department of Energy will benefit those that currently do not have access to electricity.

Four hundred and twenty-four applicants will benefit in the Central division, two thousand and fifty in the Western and one thousand seven hundred and thirty-six from the Northern Division.

Meanwhile, $9million has been allocated to house wiring and this is install proper wiring in homes that will connect households to the ELF grid system.

An additional $10million for new solar home systems.
