August 9, 2012 1:00 am

The Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation (OFCF) of Japan will be providing more technical assistance to Fiji following the signing of a memorandum of understanding yesterday.

The agreement will see the implementation of four projects already started this year.

They would repair and restore the ice making facility at Rabi Island and Sigatoka – after it was damaged in the floods.

OFCF will also supply spare parts for ice making machines and advice on the management and maintenance of a refrigeration mobile truck.

Fisheries and Forests permanent secretary Inoke Wainiqolo says the project will further strengthen relations between Fiji and Japan.
