The Housing Authority is currently developing more than six subdivisions around the country.
This include 400 singular lots in Matavolivoli, Nadi, 171 singular lots in Nepani, Nasinu with 600 units soon to be available in Davuilevu, Nausori.
Housing Authority’s board Member, Nezbitt Hazelman says this development is to meet the current housing needs for low-income earners.
“It’s quite difficult in securing these lots, so we are talking with the relevant authorities, TLTB and Land Owners to secure some of these land to make it available for the general public for their housing needs. But as we speak, there are a number of projects that are currently in place, and some in the pipeline.”
He adds work is also underway for the 534 lots in Tavakubu, Lautoka and 110 lots in Koroisalusalu ni Tavua.
Meanwhile, the Authority is currently processing applications that will meet the relevant requirements to own the lots.
