The need to have more registered surveyors is paramount as there is a shortage of this profession in the country.
There are only thirty five registered surveyors with another three who just received their certificates today.
According to the Minister for Lands and Minerals Resources Faiyaz Koya, shortages of professional Land Surveyors affects everyone.
“Land Surveying is critical in the world we live in Today. Surveyors are the first professionals to create a project from planning and designing of land subdivisions through to the final constructions of roads, utilities and landscaping.”
Koya says surveys are important as it establishes and determines the boundaries and shape of one of the most fundamental assets which is land.
