There is a lack of work being produced in the Pacific in terms of local TV series or documentaries say Fiji National University Film & Television Arun Chakravorty.

Days away from the launch of his locally produced and directed TV series ‘Spice of Life’, Chakravorty says it’s about time that more work be done.

He adds that this TV series will include the speaking of all three major languages spoken in Fiji – Hindi, i-Taukei and English.

“The narrative style of storytelling, feature films, documentaries, soap operas and documentaries is not happening much. So I thought FNU film and television department should try to make an effort in this aspect too because everyone wants to watch drama.”

Spice of Life stars an all local cast and crew, many of whom are students from the Film and Television school at the Fiji National University campus in Raiwai, follows the story of their life.

It is due to air on FBC TV on November 26.
