Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says there needs to be more private sector participation in the economy.
Speaking at the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation Top Executive Conference, Sayed-Khaiyum said one area that needs private sector entrepreneurs is the area of medical services to lessen pressure on the public health system.
Sayed-Khaiyum says government is looking at innovative ways in how they can get more private sector participation.
“We need more entrepreneurship. We need more executive sort of decision being made in those spaces what we have traditionally not seen private sector go into. I think it is very critical to do that. That also helps government to be able to focus on some core business and take a leapfrog into providing those services.”
Top executives of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation attended their annual meeting on the Coral Coast.
