More police officers to be questioned in Lalauvaki case

Several other police officers involved in the arrest of the late, 26-year-old Josua Lalauvaki, will be questioned this afternoon.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says this is in addition to two police officers who were yesterday questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

She says the two remain in police custody for questioning with several other officers now expected to be questioned later today in relation to alleged murder case.

The victim, Lalauvaki died after being allegedly assaulted by police officers outside a nightclub on the 2nd of September this year.

Naisoro maintains that no one has been charged as yet as the investigation continues.

Yesterday Police confirmed that the post-mortem examination had been conducted with the case classified as murder.
