More people are expected to be questioned by police in relation to the alleged assault of a medical officer at the Nasau Health Centre in Ra, on the 15th of this month.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Vakacegu Toduadua says they’ve already questioned five people and they have been released.

It’s alleged two men held the medical officer at knife point, assaulted him, demanded for money and methylated spirits.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama earlier highlighted they will come down hard on people, who threaten the safety or disrupts the ability of anyone from doing their job.

Bainimarama adds that these crimes are born from lack of respect and values.
