More exposure needed for local artists: Cavuilagi

More international exposure is needed so local artists can discover new opportunities for improvement.

The Director of the Fiji Arts Council Peni Cavuilagi, says innovating ideas are vital to boost the art industry.

Cavuilagi adds collaboration with international partners for capacity building, knowledge sharing and benchmarking has increased.

“Some of these artists had the opportunity to be exposed in overseas environment and I’m thankful to the China Culture Centre, most of them have been to China for an exposure and when they came I can see a lot of difference in the way they showcases their artwork”.

The Council has opened a new art gallery at its Suva office, where artists are able to showcase their work.

The general public, students and tourists can visit the gallery.
