A total of thirteen evacuation centres were established in the Central Division in the past few days due to heavy downpour and was closed on Saturday only to be reactivated after the continuous rain.
The evacuation centre in Veiraisi outside Nadera and LDS Church in Calia, Navua was open to members of the public from Saturday.
Commissioner Central Setareki Tale has confirmed to FBC News that the evacuation centres that were closed re-opened on Sunday due to the heavy downpour on Saturday night.
“A lot of movement is a precautionary nature and we are thankful to the people at the communities for taking pre-active measures, to move to evacuation centres before anything drastic happens."_
No reports of causalities were received in the Central Division
