Six men were arrested in Navosa recently for their alleged involvement in the cultivation of illicit drugs on their farms.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed these men appeared in Court last week and have been remanded in custody.

ACP Tudravu says a total of 1508 Marijuana plants were uprooted from these farms, a labour intensive exercise for police officers and villagers involved.
In addition, ACP Tudravu says there have been other drug busts, with 100 Marijuana plants uprooted from Nayau in the Lau Group and other similar seizures in Savusavu and Labasa.

Police reportedly made arrests of some passengers believed to be involved in the illegal farming while they were disembarking from the Lomaiviti Princess having returned from Kadavu.
