More ambulances needed to reduce operational cost

November 22, 2017 12:10 am

There is a need for more ambulances in order to cater for the high demand of ambulance services around the country.

This was highlighted by St. John Ambulance Manager Lloyd Ahtack who believes their operational cost can reduce if they’re provided with more ambulances.

“Yes, there is definitely a shortage of ambulance for new good ambulances. You can see most of the ambulances we use are second hand but we have maintained it and we have had higher maintenance cost but we managed to maintain it through these years and we’re still servicing the public. But definitely a need for more ambulance that will lessen our operational cost.”

Meanwhile, Project Bula Mai handed over a new ambulance worth more than forty thousand dollars to St. John in Suva this morning.

They will also be assisting St. John in building a car port and providing the equipment needed to carry out their daily services.
