June 17, 2015 4:46 am

The Ministry of Health launched eight Monitoring and Evaluation facilitator guides in Suva this morning.

Minister for Health Jone Usamate says the books will allow staff to be trained on how they can strengthen, monitor and evaluate their work.

Usamate says the ministry has set up a group of people to teach others how to evaluate and monitor their performances in the ministry.

“As minister I believe greatly that if you want to improve health you got to improve the processes and the systems that we have and this is major, it’s absolutely critical for this so it’s probably one of the first few ministries that has ever done something to this stage where we want to improve the whole health system by having the monitoring and evaluation strengthen right across the ministry.”

The Ministry of Health hopes to have 200 experts in the ministry to continuously improve their performances by 2020 to meet their vision that is to develop a Healthy Population in Fiji.
