Monitor your children: Police

A six year old boy drowned on a while swimming with friends at a river in Naviago in Lautoka yesterday.

Police have raised concerns on the lack of parental supervision.

Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri is urging parents and guardians not to leave children unattended.

“The Fiji Police Force is again appealing to parents and guardians to supervise their children especially during the weekends when they will usually spend their time by the sea or river.”

The drowning toll now stands at 45 compared to 25 for the same period last year.
