The Multinational Observer Group today held its first official press conference to outline their operations in the lead-up to and during the elections.
Observer Coordinator Alice Cawte (COURT) stated the observers have come with an open mind, will be transparent in their activities, and are here to listen to the people of Fiji.
“Between now and polling day we will be observing a range of electoral processes including voter registration (we began that process last week and earlier this week), candidate nomination and registration, voting processes including pre-poll, postal and polling diverting, counting processes and the resolution of disputes.”
The MOG is a group of countries that Fiji has invited to observe the election this year.
Australia, India and Indonesia are co-charing the Multinational Observer Group and other countries will join them in the coming weeks.
