Modi to address Parliament

An extraordinary session of Parliament will be convened next week for an address by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi is scheduled to visit Suva on a one-day state visit next Wednesday.

Secretary General to Parliament Viniana Namosimalua says they are still finalizing the programme.

“We will have to take that through the business committee so that they decide that it’s a sitting to allow him to address members in the house, I believe so, it will be an address by a Head of State to Members of Parliament .”

Modi is the second Indian Prime Minister to visit Fiji since Indira Gandhi visited in 1981.
