Modi in Fiji

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Fiji.

Modi arrived at around six o’clock this morning at the Nausori International Airport, where he was met by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and other Government Ministers.

Modi also inspected the guard of honour by the Fiji Military forces.

The leader of the largest democracy was also accorded a guard of honour by hundreds of Fijians on the Kings Road as his motorcade made its way to the Grand Pacific Hotel.

Modi in the last hour tweeted, “Bula from Fiji! On the shores of the Pacific Ocean, among wonderful people.”

He will be accorded a traditional welcome at around 9:30am at Albert Park.
He will also address Parliament at 11.30am.
