MOA on rehab works for QVS finalised

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Fijian and the Indonesian Government for rehabilitation works at Queen Victoria School.

Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister Yogesh Karan signed the agreement on Saturday, on behalf of the Fijian Government with Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations along the margins of the 74th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Tailevu’s Queen Victoria School was among 166 other schools in the country that was damaged by Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston in February 2016.

The MOA will allow the Indonesian Government to continue rehabilitation works at the school.

Meanwhile, the Government will ensure that rehabilitation works which are expected soon at QVS will be built to a higher standard.
