Dr Sharma says it is for the betterment of all.

“The purpose of decentralization is to take the services closer to the people, take it where it is possible, for example when somebody returns home at 5pm and finds that the child is unwell, they can take the child to the neighborhood facility and be treated.”

The statistics by the Health Ministry reveals that the decentralization is helping communities’ access local health centres without being standing in queues at major hospitals.
