The 2018 Hibiscus Queen Jessica Fong will be advocating on Non Communicable Diseases during the Miss Fiji Pageant.
Fong says with Fiji being ranked number one in the world for Diabetes, raising more awareness about the deadly epidemic will help many Fijians.
“I believe that NCD’s can be tackled with behavioral changes and if we all take the initiative to be empowered and take your health into our own hands, we most definitely can tackle this issue without a problem.”
She says we need to take steps now to tackle NCD’s before it gets out of hand.
Fong says she’ looking forward to representing Suva in the Miss Fiji Pageant later in the year which will see all of the Queens from the other festivals contest for the national crown.
The winner will then represent Fiji in the Miss South Pacific Pageant.
