We need to do more and spread joy to our elderly people.

Nelisha Umarao, Miss FBC 2015, made the comment while visiting the Samabula Senior Citizens Home in Suva today.

Umarao says parents and grandparents were there when people needed them the most, so this is the time to give back to them.

“To raise awareness and tell the youth about the responsibility that we have towards the elderly people in our society, so what we have achieved by coming here to this people, to this home, is that we’ve spent a few minutes with them, we’ve given them gifts."

More than 20 FBC staff visited the Samabula home delivering clothes and bedding contributed by members of the public who responded to an on-air campaign to assist the elderly.
