“We have done this competition for the first time ever in Fiji and it’s really awesome because the crowd here is huge. Dandiya is just a fun competition where we use sticks to dance in circles and it’s a very traditional dance where the dancers also dress up in traditional costumes.”

The Gujju Gang won the Dandiya competition, walking away with five hundred dollars.

Best dressed male went to Rahul Parmar and best dressed female was awarded to Neha Chand. They both walked away with two hundred and fifty dollars each.

Meanwhile, the best couple dance was awarded to Jeshal and Amisha who won three hundred dollars.

The Dandiya dance is a traditional folk dance form of Gujarat & Rajasthan India, and is associated with scenes of Holi, and lila of Krishna and Radha at Vrindavan.
