The managing company MIOT International for the MIOT Pacific Suva Hospital has been working to ensure all of their medical staff are upskilled abroad.

Director for the Oceania Hospitals, Avi Raju, says the company wants to ensure that not only are the facilities world class but the medical team too.

“We have sent various Doctors and Medical staff to Chennai, to MIOT international for further training so we’ve been upskilling them over the last 10 months in preparation for the opening of our new facilities and we will continue to do that.”

As part of its expansion plans, MIOT Pacific today opened a Cardiac and Emergency centre which houses the country’s only 4D hi-definition CT scan.

It took five months to construct the facility in what used to be the Hospitals carpark at a cost of eighteen million dollars.
