The Fiji police is working with nightclub owners and security officers to turn away minors from entering clubs during its night operations in Suva.

Tudravu says there’s always a hype of activities in the Capital and parents should be aware of their children’s whereabouts.

“We are just sending awareness to those who should not be entering night clubs – not to enter night clubs and that is the stand that we have. There a lot of movement of people down here and down to the West and cities so I am begging the general public mainly parents and guardians to look after their children at this festival season that we’re heading to.”

Meanwhile, Police is working with the Suva City Council to include the coverage from a number of existing CCTV cameras into its command centre.

Tudravu says this will help the force monitor activities happening in and around the capital.

The Local Government Ministry has also stepped in to ensure there’s proper lighting which has boosted police operations.
