The upgrading of the agriculture sector is a key priority for the agriculture ministry this year.
Minister responsible, Inia Seruiratu says the upgrade is long overdue with the resources and technology available.
Seruiratu while touring all Agriculture Stations in the Central Division last week, has urged his officers to stand up and be responsible.
”I always tell each and every one of us, when you are sitting in that job, this is your time to make the most of it, create a legacy so that when you leave, we will remember you for good things because Fiji needs this. The organization can move on without you or without me, it will survive plus we have responsibility, this is one of the reason why we are here now, the team has a top number of opportunity, the market, you need to be aware of this, don’t isolate yourself, you are part of the chain, you are part of the system, you roles are very important.”
Seruiratu says all officers are aware of the demands from farmers and they should all work to fulfill these demands.
He adds all officers should expect changes as they work to improve the ministry’s service delivery.
