Ministry to look at service delivery in rural areas

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural and Maritime development will see that services which are available for people in urban areas is made available to those in the rural areas as well.

Ministry’s assistant minister Jale Sigarara says the ministry through different programs will also look into how financial literacy can be introduced to rural communities.

Sigarara says under the integrated rural development program, the ministry will incorporate inclusive package when investing in rural infrastructure.

He says this is in line with government’s aim of a more inclusive Fiji.

We will ensure that adequate and effective public awareness is conducted in

“the communities through appropriate and effective mediums of communication. This will help people make informed decisions and meaningful choices for a better quality of life.”

Sigarara says the ministry will also expand social services to people living in rural settings.
