November 29, 2018 3:42 am

The Health Ministry will introduce paramedical services to raise the standard of ambulatory services in the country.

Assistant Minister, Alex O’Connor, says ward nurses and drivers will enroll in an eight-nine month course before being assigned to specially outfitted ambulances.

O’Connor says these ambulances have been purchased and are in the process of delivery.

He says that current nursing stations are earmarked to be upgraded to health centre status and this is due to the increase in population.

O’Connor adds new nursing stations will be constructed in rural and remote areas and when the need arises and on approval of the landowning unit or Mataqali.
