Minister to visit Fiji women in India

The Minister for Women Dr Jiko Luveni will be visiting the Barefoot College in Rajasthan, India this month.

Dr Luveni says she has received positive reports from Barefoot College on the performance of the 10 Fiji women undergoing training in solar engineering.

Dr Luveni says her visit is based on the Prime Minister’s meeting with the 10 women during his visit to India last month.

Last year Bunker Roy, the founder of Barefoot College visited Fiji and confirmed that the College has trained 300 grandmothers as solar engineers.

This prompted Fiji to send 10 women to get trained.
