Minister calls for united effort

Forestry Minister, Osea Naiqamu held a one-week awareness on the four million trees in four years initiative in 14 villages in Tailevu.

1,600 trees including native trees and fruit trees were planted in these villages.

Speaking to villagers in Nameka the Minister reiterated the call by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama that Fijians need to unite on this course and disregard their political differences.

He says everyone must unite on this tree planting initiative because this is one of the best solutions for climate change affecting small island nations.

Naiqamu says within the next four years Government needs the support of all Fijians in order to achieve its target of four million trees.
