Min calls for greater participation to prevent violence

Minister for Women and Children Rosy Akbar is calling for greater participation from the public to address the very preventable crisis of violence against women and children.

Akbar made the statement while addressing members of the Inter Agency Taskforce meeting this morning.

Akbar says the taskforce will share ideas and expertise to assist the Ministry’s commitment to address violence against women and children urgently.

‘’Therefore you can see from the ideas and hear it from the voices that there is a desire to make a change, there is a desire to make a difference in the lives of women and children in the country’’.

The Inter Agency Task Force is expected to put together a plan that will help the Ministry carry out its awareness and activities to prevent violence against women and children from happening.
