The Fiji Muslim League is embarking on a million dollar project which will see them build a new shopping mall and an apartment in Suva.

The project costs over twenty million dollars and the development will take place at the current Fiji Muslim League settlement in Nabua.

President Fiji Muslim League Hafiz Khan says they have discussed with the government on the relocation of families that are currently living on the land.

“We are working very closely with the government to assist the existing squatters who will be moving to a land that we have allocated to them in Waidra, Baulevu, some of them will go to other Housing Authority facilities but the majority of them will go to Waidra.”

Khan says the development was part of their long-term plan and it was possible through a loan from the Islamic Development Bank of Saudi Arabia.

Khan says more development will take on the land as work progresses in the next 12 months.
