Methodist Church to further discuss on same sex relationships

The Methodist Church will have further discussions on same-sex relationships.

Church President, Reverend Dr. Epineri Vakadewavosa says this is a critical issue which needs extensive consultations.

Reverend Dr. Vakadewavosa says it is causing some members of the church overseas to move away from the church.

“That is an issue with the church, the Methodist church in Fiji doesn’t except that but our partners from overseas, but we appreciate that we have further discussions on that and at the same time we maintain our partnership as the churches where people of god gathered and see the salvation of god in the church.”

Reverend Dr. Vakadewavosa says it’s crucial to have more talks with the members of the church, the partner churches overseas with the bible as the foundation of the discussions as a way forward.

Meanwhile, the week long conference continues today.
