Men charged with robbery 'plead not guilty'

Two men charged with aggravated robbery pleaded not guilty to their charges today.

Joeli Nukunawa along with Maika Tovagone and Issac James allegedly robbed a man of more than $3700 cash and other assorted items.

The incident happened on September 18th last year.

It is also alleged the three assaulted the complainant and as a result he received serious injuries.

Judge Justice Vincent Perera has issued a bench warrant against the third accused Issac James who was not present in Court today.

State Counsel has informed the court his pictures will be put up in the dailies and Crime Stoppers as well.

Nukunawa and Tovagone have been remanded in custody.

The matter has been adjourned to November 10th.
