Finding ways to resolve all pending cases before the Fiji Mediation Centre is one of the issues that were discussed amongst mediators during their meeting yesterday.

Mediation Centre Board Member Watisoni Nata says the need for mediators to come on board and sought out cases that are currently before the Center is vital.

Nata says the Centre handles quite a number of cases and most of them are out of court referrals.

If the judges or magistrates feel its cases that can be resolved before the mediation, they would refer the case to the mediation center and they will mediate the case first before it gets refer back and of the mediation is successful what we do we take the mediation summon agreement and they get enforce as an order of the court before it deals with the judges or magistrate.

Meanwhile Nata says mediation generally is an effective tool for dispute resolution.
