Media agency off-line pending MIDA decision

The online news agency, Newswire has been offline now for several weeks.

The message displayed on what would be the news agency’s web site highlighting that they’re inactive awaiting regulatory formalities given its sale to Islands Business.

Chair for the Media Industry Development Authority, Ashwin Raj declined to comment on the issue only saying that the matter is currently with their lawyers to finalize.

FBC News understands Newswire was sold to the local magazine last month, however, MIDA has yet to register the new owners pending a board meeting of the Authority.
