The government is working on recognising bravery shown during the two recent floods.

The Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama says he’s heard many stories about people risking their lives.

“The Commissioners and DISMAC operators will obtain stories about heroism during the floods; you know there are a couple of stories already, we need to have that put on statement and see that they get the medal or the honours that goes along with those.”

Bainimarama says history was also created during the floods when Hindu schools hosted catholic and Muslim schools, something which is rarely found in the world but the seriousness of the situation meant normal divisions were forgotten.
