Mckinlay crowned Miss Vodafone Sinu 2019

Twenty-one-year-old Irinieta Mckinlay was crowned Miss Vodafone Sinu last night at the Valelevu grounds in Nasinu.

Mckinlay who has maternal links to Naitasiri was emotional when she was announced the winner.

Sponsored by Lei Entertainers, she was also awarded Miss Photogenic, Best Sulu Jhamba, Best Sarong and Best Research topic during the week-long festival.

“I am speechless. My heart is full with gratitude nothing else. I have to thank every single sponsor that made this carnival happen.”

Speaking at the closing of the festival last night, Infrastructure Minister Jone Usamate highlighted the importance of practicing healthy living.

“NCD’s something that is absolutely very critical. I hope that for all those of you who have been coming every night that you will take back the message of NCD. This is the thing that is killing the Fijians today. Eighty percent of Fijians who die before the age of 70 died because they make the wrong choices in their life.”

The second runner up was awarded to Miss Alvin Electrical, Rigieta Naisake while Miss Standard Concrete Munisha Lal scooped the first runner up title.

Miss Nasinu Town Council Mere Wainiqolo received the charity crown.
