Police rover Rusiate Matai has joined the Fiji Airways men’s extended squad as they prepare for the Las Vegas tournament.
Matai was instrumental in the Coral Coast 7s last month where he took out the Jonah Lomu medal as the top try scorer.
Fiji 7s Head coach Gareth Baber says he has other players from local clubs who have joined them in camp.
“There are few players that have come in and you’ve seen them playing in local tournaments recently similar to what I’ve done before and do alit bit of continuity that we try and create in the group and see those players it’s always a challenge for them and for the rest of the players as well and I want to see how they react in our environment.”
Fiji is pooled with Wales, Australia, and Scotland in the Las Vegas 7s which will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of next month in USA.
