March was incident free: Police

The march in support of striking ATS workers organised by the Fiji Trades Union Congress was an incident free event.

Police Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu, says close to two hundred police officers were deployed to monitor the situation in Nadi.

ACP Tudravu says more than 2,500 people marched through the Nadi town and participants abided by the conditions set out in the permit.

Police also ensured the safety of the public who were in Nadi town.

ACP Tudravu says it was a busy day for the public coming to town especially with the last minute back to school shopping and they wanted to ensure there were no disruptions.
