A 35 year old man convicted of a count each of sexual assault and indecent assault has been sentenced to 2 years 6 months imprisonment.
The man sexually and indecently assaulted his niece in 2012.
The incident took place in Makoi, Nasinu.

High Court Judge Justice Vincent Perera said considering the time spent in custody, the remaining time to be served is seven months.
The man has to serve 1 year 6 months of sentence and the balance period of 1 year is suspended for 2 years.
The Judge says he found the man remorseful during the trial.
The man was earlier acquitted of the rape charge by the Suva High Court.
