A 26-year-old man of Nasinu who is alleged to have raped and robbed a 35-year-old woman has been remanded in custody by the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.

Niko Rokara is charged with one count of burglary, one count of rape and one count of aggravated robbery.

Prosecution confirms that full disclosures were issued in court today.

It’s alleged that on the 5th of this month, Rokara entered the victim’s home while she was asleep, threatened and raped her and then took off with her phone and assorted items.

The case has been transferred to the Suva High Court, where he will apply for a formal bail application next Friday.
